Elder Jacob Rex Dickson's First Transfer

Latest email from Jake (Dec. 10, 2007):
Hi, guess where I am.....Jacksonville. Camp Lejeune is in my area. We pretty much teach Marines all day, it's way cool. My companion is Elder Ross. He works hard. There is a sister in this ward named Sister Whitelock and she is related to Jeff Hochstrasser. Next time I talk to her I will give her your email address.
This is the highest baptizing zone in the mission and this area (Jacksonville 3rd) is the highest in the zone. We teach non-stop. I have never seen such a motivated ward. The first exchange we went on was with Brother Teai from Tahiti. He is Recon. He's the most hard core person I have ever met. Two of his daughters are being baptized Saturday. And I did get Dad's hunting pictures. Very nice! Tell Reid good job on bearing his testimony.
Love to all, Jake

(Elder Jake R. Dickson & Pres. & Sis. Wallis)
"I love North Carolina. The people are really friendly. I live in a really nice apartment with one other companionship. We have lots of fun as we work. Everyone is religious here. It's really sunny, and feels like I'm in a greenhouse. We walk alot and some times take the bus. I'm in the Kinston Zone, the Greenville area, Pitt County. Eastern Carolina University (ECU) is in my area. The other day, we went on campass and talked to alot of students about the gospel. We talked for about three hours straight one time on the first 2 lessons. Everyone wants to debate, we don't argue. From being down here I've further realized the important role that the spirit plays. 2 Nephi 32:3."
